Alexandre Tharaud is a French pianist, born Paris, 9 December 1968, active on the concert platform and with a large and diverse discography. Alexandre Tharaud discovered the music scene through his mother who was a dance professeur at the Opéra de Paris, and his father, an amateur director and singer of operettas. Tharaud thus appeared as a child in theatres around northern France, where the family spent many weekends. His grandfather was a violinist in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s. At the initiative of his parents, Alexandre started his piano studies at the age of five, and he entered Conservatory of the 14th Arrondissement, where his teacher was Carmen Taccon-Devenat, a student of Marguerite Long.

He entered the Conservatoire de Paris at age 14 where he won first prize for piano in the class of Germaine Mounier when he was 17 years old. With Theodor Paraskivesco, he mastered the piano, and he sought and received the advice of Claude Helffer, Leon Fleisher and Nikita Magaloff. In 1987, he won third prize at the International Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona and, a year later, the Senigallia Competition in Italy. In 1989, he received 2nd prize at the Munich International Competition. His career developed quickly in Europe as well as in North America and Japan.

In 2009, he took part in a show devoted to Erik Satie with actor François Morel. Alongside the singer Juliette, he organised a Satie Day at the Cité de la musique, recorded for France Télévisions. He has also worked with the French composer Thierry Pécou, giving the première of his first piano concerto in October 2006 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and later recording it.

In 2012, Tharaud took part in the French cinema film Amour by Michael Haneke where he played himself, alongside Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva and Isabelle Huppert, although he said that it would not be the start of a film career for him.

The New York Times described his Bach playing at a recital in 2005 as "crisply articulated and vividly etched".

Matthew Dekay is a Dutch electronic music composer and DJ whose label All Day I Dream is responsible for pushing some of today’s most romantic, melancholic and emotional house music.
Matthew was first exposed to electronic music in the early 90’s while growing up in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Listening to composers like Vangelis and Terry Riley at such a young age paved the way for Matthew to grow up and become a classically trained musician with a strong fixation for synthesizers. Today, it is these two factors coupled with his never ending hunt for new technology, that Matthew uses to ensure his music stands out among his peers.
In 2008, Matthew moved to NYC and spent a summer season in Ibiza. This was where he fell in love with underground music again thanks to Ricardo Villalobos, and by the time he met Lee Burridge later that year, he knew he had found his musical soul mate.
Matthew relocated to Berlin in 2009, which provided him with fresh musical appreciation. Soon after, Lee Burridge came over from London to work in the studio and they finally finished Wongel. Nick Curly – head of the German label Cecille Records – loved it, and immediately signed the track to his label. Wongel went on to peak at #6 in the Beatport Tech House charts, and #1 on Resident Advisor’s 50 Most Charted Tracks of November 2010. The track was also included on the Cocoon compilations Party Animals and Green and Blue.
Matthew and Lee later decided to take their collaboration to the next step, starting a label together in 2011. All Day I Dream began with a series of four daytime parties on a rooftop in Brooklyn NYC, in the summer of 2011. By October 2011, All Day I Dream 001 was released both on vinyl and digitally. All Day I Dream 002 followed shortly after, and featured the track Für Die Liebe, a song which would later go on to become one of the biggest records at 2011’s infamous Burning Man festival. Für Die Liebe was licensed to Joris Voorn’s disc on the Cocoon compilation Cocoon Heroes. It also featured on the Kehakuma (Space Ibiza) compilation, mixed and selected by Nick Curly.
A second label, Get Weird, which was launched in June 2012, provides Matthew and Lee with an avenue to release the quirkier, late night sounds that they enjoy. The pair also have plans to extend their All Day I Dream parties further abroad, with a European debut set to take place during the summer of 2013.

In the decade that has passed since Lee Burridge discovered acid house music, raided the local record shops of Bournemouth and took to the decks, his illustrious DJ career has spanned at least three continents and seen him work alongside some of the England's most revered DJ's.
... Lee broadened his DJ diary horizons to take in Thailand, Ireland, South America, Ibiza, Israel and Hong Kong where international club goers have voted with their feet for Lee's driving progressive style. 2000 will see him play in Greece, Ibiza, the States, Brazil and undertake an Asian tour.
With 1999 already a distant memory, the accolades Lee received - a new entry @ no. 33 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ Poll, Muzik's DJ Of The Month and Mixmag's Best Up and Coming DJ, are the perfect platform to consolidate his rise in 2000 with the launch of his monthly Tyrant night with Craig Richards at Fabric and the launch of the Tyrant Compilation series on Distinctive Breaks which will showcase Lee and Craig Richards legendary DJ sets as previously seen at Space in Ibiza and The Bonaparte at the last two Notting Hill Carnivals.

It was the mid -‘90s, the heyday of techno in Munich - Riem, home to the Optimal and other legendary clubs, when Daniel Bortz stepped into the never - ending, untiring loop of the stoically pumping bass drum. He was born in Berlin in 1981, but shortly thereafter his family moved to Bavaria, where he grew up.

For the last 13 years he has been forging his deep beats, grooves and tracks for the club world from his base of operations in Augsburg. And it‘s precisely that club world that Bortz has been gracing with his releases for quite some time now, aiming right for its hypecravingg - spot. He got his training as a producer with the Munich label Pastamusik with whom he released his first recording 2007. Since then, he‘s been refining his sound between crate digging, house - nostalgia, dancefloor - transfer, sample insanity and a healthy dose of eclecticism.

Be it ’80s new wave, ’90s West Coast Hip Hop, Disco or Dance mania, Daniel Bortz brings things together that aren‘t bound up with realness and street credibility; he fuses his own world of sound for today‘s dance floor, and part of that is bootlegs - dangerously thin ice for a music producer’s reputation.

Daniel Bortz has an infallible knack for reducing things down to the nitty - gritty; to constantly limit elements to their bare minimum, even if nowadays “minimal” is considered an absolute no - no. But none of that bothers the Augsburg musician much; he is just as aware of his special status in the close - knit Bavarian scene as he is of the sceptical gloom - and - doom prophecies of Berlin’s music buffs.

Daft Punk, Debussy, Chopin, Ludovico Einaudi : with such references, this 19 year old musician sees himself as a composer.
Mixing electro music and classical with an amazing sense of unsteadiness and offbeat tempo, Art of Shades plays with shadows and musical illuminations, through the use of piano, vilions and synthetic waves.
Melody remains the major priority : submerged in music since his childhood and initiated to academy, Art of Shades can even shift from turntables to keyboard, or shine at shows and for documentaries with breathless harmonies.

Far from offbeat artistic families, broken computers and restrictive music conservatories, the 30-year-old Parisian and mother-of-two has created a highly colourful musical project. Her debut album Crazy was released in France on 26 September, 2011. The inspiration for the disc comes from Ornette’s memories of her home life, at a time when she was still just Bettina Kee.

Nôze, an adventurous electro band from Paris. Ezechiel Pailhès and Nicolas Sfintescu are two comrades, two troublemakers, full of life, joy and happiness, often wearing their straw hats and stripping of their clothes at the end of their show after musically anything has been touched. A touch of Summer even in the deepest Winter. They are coming with a lot of gear, playing real instruments like the Korg MS20 and the digital legend Korg M1. Supported by their music computers, the big mixing desk as the core and their own voices, they create a unique show on any stage, taking the vibes of the club up to the max!

Robert and Sam first met in a little basement studio in a village not far from the coast of the Baltic Sea. At that time they played in different bands - Robert as a producer and keyboarder of a Depeche Mode influenced electronic liveact and Sam as a singer/songwriter and guitarist in several jazz- and rock bands. It took a while before they both started producing together and playing their liveset in various clubs and open airs in Berlin. But does it matter? What really matters is if they have something to contribute to the vast electronic music scene with its thousands of creative and talented producers. Surprisingly, they have! And it is not the latest club-rocking extremely loud techhouse chord, nor a trendy new special sound for the percussions that will then stay the same for the next 20 releases. And its definitely not a bunch of africa/swing or trumpet samples combined with a state of art house beat. It is the urge to write and compose techno songs. Not tracks... songs! Songs that dedicate themselves to the repetitiveness and intensity of electronic dance music and still fly with the emotion of real composing. You can catch a glimpse of that on umami's first vinyl "Ich & Du", a collaboration with AKA AKA on Stil vor Talent or their track "I come to you" which will be released on Burlesque Musique in 27. of September 2010. But be assured, there is a lot more coming…

"Sunny" is a disco cover version of Bobby Hebb's 1966 hit, recorded by German euro disco group Boney M, produced by Frank Farian and arranged by Stefan Klinkhammer in a euro disco arrangement. It was taken from their 1976 debut album Take the Heat Off Me, following their breakthrough single "Daddy Cool" and was another major hit single that topped the German charts.

It’s a common misconception of people who don’t listen to electronic music to generalize the sound, or write it off as all the same. However, people like Daniel Krajnyak (Berlin) are single-handedly disproving that kind of thinking. This is because Daniel Krajnyak, known better as electronic artist Rampue, is constantly changing his style and evolving his sound, showing that the electronic spectrum is, in fact, wide and diverse.
Born in the concrete desert of Karl-Marx-Stadt he learnt from an early age to just bite through everything and for that he needed a mouth full ofsaw teeth. At the age of 13 he had already begun to produce his first beats. Influenced by the the whole area of tension between techno and electro he has since then distilled the best music from a whole generation of pop from ELO to Kraftwerk and warmed the stone dry beats with hot sounds from the future. As a DJ he uses his know-how to soften wonderful synth-melodies and thumping grooves and can even make the hardest sounds soft. From minimum to maximum, from techno to trance and to proghouse and back. Everything that Rampue takes in his hand is danceable, whether he has produced, remixed or released.

Marek Hemmann has grown into the electronic music as a hunter, collector and true connaisseur of tones and sonics. The reason for the sonic passion was delivered to him via the techno parties late 90’s in his home area of Gera which was soon a weekly anchor for electronic experimentation. Here was to be found deep and delightful connections with people, rhymes, light and sounds. Until the first live gigs would come just a few years later, he made music for himself and his flat mates. This emboldened him to eventually begin to play his music live, leaving behind self-doubt and found with his first gig his calling as a live act. From then on he refined and improved his sets from which grew the distinctive Marek Hemmann sound; a sound with a minimum on technique but rather a very wide diversity of noise and tonal sensibility. Since 2005 Marek Hemmann lives in Jena where his home, studio and label are in the immediate vicinity. After innumerable remixes and a handful of singles, in fall 2009 his debut album ‘In Between’ was published on the label Freude am Tanzen.

Douglas Greed (Mario Wilms, Jena) started his path under this moniker in 2005 with the desire for a straight bass drum and the attitude of a music lover. Most recently he is an organizer and recording artist still; despite his many outgrowths. Meanwhile the enthusiastic music lover and indiemusic connoisseur has managed a considerable number of releases on straightforward labels like Combination, Lebensfreude, Kindisch, Infiné, Dekadent, Ostwind, Acker and of course Freude am Tanzen, as well as diverse remixes.
